Kundapur:Feb.01:Opposing the ban imposed by Kundapur Tahasildar Gayathri Nayak and Udupi dist.DC Dr.T.M.Reju on the entrance of Daliths into Kundapur ‘Ambedkar Bhavan,Dalith Union(Bhimavada) led by State convener Udaykumar Tallur has started an indefinite hunger strike near Kundapur Shashtri circle.
A total of 12 Dalith leaders sat using the ‘Gandhigiri policy as their weapon’. Minister Vinaykumar Sorake and MLA Gopal Poojari visited the striking Dalith leaders and promised them to take necessary action for the open entrance of Daliths into Ambedkar Bhavan. But the protesters did not listen to the promises and demanded the written orders. Minister Vinaykumar Sorake then left the place promising Dalith leaders to bring the written orders the next day.
In between,the health condition of Dist.convener Shekhar Perdoor has deteriorated and he has been admitted to Kundapur Govt.hospital on Friday night.
